RDIF: Omicron-specific Sputnik V jab in the works

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced on Monday that a Sputnik V vaccine meant to target specifically the new COVID-19 Omicron variant is being developed.

The RDIF issued a statement, forecasting that the adapted shot will be able to neutralize the new strain.

"In an unlikely case such modification is needed, the new Sputnik Omicron version can be ready for mass-scale production in 45 days," RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev noted.
