Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Saturday accused the United States of blocking a ceasefire in Gaza and expanding the scale of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, ISNA News Agency reported.
Speaking before flying to Saudi Arabia for an extraordinary summit, Raisi also called for an immediate halt to the bombing of the Strip and for the opening of all routes used to get aid delivered to the people in need. He emphasized the need for change and condemned the actions of the Israeli regime in Gaza as "war crimes" and "crimes against humanity."
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had earlier expressed Washington's stance that a ceasefire in Gaza threatens to give Hamas time to regroup.
