Arms manufacturer Rheinmetall AG announced Monday a deal with Denmark to deliver 16 Skyranger 30 air defense turrets and equipment for an 8x8 wheeled vehicle to its army. The contract, valued in the lower hundreds of millions of euros, also includes ammunition worth several million euros. Exact figures were not revealed. Deliveries are scheduled for 2027 and 2028, with a prototype expected in late 2026.
"The signing of this contract is an important step toward establishing the brigade's air defense, which is an essential part of making the brigade fully operational," Danish Lieutenant General Per Pugholm Olsen noted.
Earlier, Austria placed a similar order and NATO and EU countries showed interest in doing the same, the company said.
