Deputy Governor of Sveriges Riksbank Anna Breman stated on Thursday that to tackle inflation and achieve stability, that institution needs "to gradually raise the policy rate and lower the bank's asset holdings.
"Inflation is too high, it is too broad, and it is hurting households and firms. The mandate we have been given by the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) is to maintain price stability," she added.
Breman also said she supports "doing what is necessary to attain the inflation target" in case it goes even higher and becomes more persistent than in the forecast.
