Romelu Lukaku will join Serie A club AS Roma, as Chelsea FC club gave him permission to leave the team on a one-season loan, the English football club revealed on Thursday on its official website. According to the media outlets, Roma, led by former Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho, will pay between £7 and £8 million for Lukaku, depending on his results.
The Belgium player came to Chelsea from Inter Milan in 2021 for £97.5 million but has not played for the Blues since May 2022.
"The welcome that this club and these fans gave me thrilled me and represents a further incentive to give everything for my new team," Lukaku said after signing the deal.
