PJSC Rosneft Oil Company underlined on Friday in a statement that the German Federal Government's decision to take control over the company's subsidiaries in the country was "illegal."
"This decision is illegal and, in fact, is an expropriation of shareholding as a result of a situation deliberately created by the relevant EU sanctions and the actions of German and Polish regulators, the purpose of which was to seize assets," Rosneft highlighted.
The energy company stressed that such a move represents a complete "violation of all the fundamental principles of a market economy," as it has so far "complied with all the requirements of German regulators and worked transparently and openly on the market, providing fuel to consumers."
