George Russell of the Mercedes F1 team claimed Saturday the pole position for the Canada Grand Prix race that will take place on Sunday in Montreal.
Current world champion and season leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing finished second, matching Russell's time. Both drivers completed their fastest lap in 1:12.000. Two of McLaren's drivers came after Russell and Verstappen, as Lando Norris finished in third place followed by his teammate Oscar Piastri in the fourth spot.
The main event is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:00 pm local time at the legendary venue Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
