The State Duma approved on Tuesday a bill to give the first push to removing the Taliban movement from the list of banned organizations in Russia.
According to the proposed bill, an organization can be scratched off that list "if there is factual information" that it "has ceased carrying out activities aimed at promoting, justifying, and supporting terrorism." The document must also pass the upper house of the Federal Assembly, the Federation Council, to be fully approved.
Previously, it was reported that the Russian government supported the idea of Duma passing such a bill.
