Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that Ukraine returned 175 of the imprisoned military personnel in exchange for Russia returning the same number of Ukrainian prisoners as a result of the negotiating process helped by yesterday's conversation between United States President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The ministry stated that the United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation efforts during the prisoner exchange and that Russia also transferred 22 seriously wounded prisoners of war who were in need of urgent medical care as "a gesture of goodwill."

The Russian military personnel are reportedly on the territory of Belarus currently, where they are being provided with psychological and medical assistance.
