Russia counting on Xi, Putin talks in October

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said on Tuesday at a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that Moscow expects bilateral talks between presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, in Beijing this October within the framework of the international forum Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Patrushev also noted that Moscow supports Beijing on the issue of Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong, adding that due to the "collective Western campaign of dual deterrence" against the two countries, further deepening of coordination and partnership in the international arena is particularly important.
