Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on Saturday designating September 30 as "reunification day," commemorating Russia's controversial annexation of the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts, as the Kyiv Independent reported.
In a video address, Putin described the signing of these agreements as a significant and historic event, celebrating the annexation of these regions.
Late last year, Russia conducted referendums in occupied territories, asking if they wished for the territories to be integrated into the Russian Federation.
