Russian President Vladimir Putin is exempt from foreign criminal jurisdiction in accordance with international law, Russian Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Konstantin Kosachev (pictured) underscored on Friday.
"Today's decision of the ICC has nothing to do with justice but demonstrates the deepest crisis of international law provoked by the West. Under these conditions, Russia has every legal basis for imposing tough sanctions against the ICC, its judges and officials," Kosachev said.
"Together with friendly countries, it would be nice to think about creating an institutional court that would become a real alternative to the ICC," he added.
