Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian-appointed head of Crimea, confirmed that two drones were shot down by air defense and electronic warfare forces on Saturday over Crimea.
He added that there were no casualties and that Russian officials blame Ukraine for the attacks. However, a spokesperson denied Ukraine's involvement in the attempted strike.
"In parallel with the morning drone attack on Sevastopol, one UAV was shot down by air defense forces in the sky over the Republic of Crimea and another was suppressed by electronic warfare," the official claimed.
