Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed on Tuesday that Russian military forces conducted an air strike over Ukraine's capital, striking two residential buildings and causing air raid sirens after a relatively calm period in the past several weeks.
Klitschko noted that the government sent rescuers and medics to the damaged areas. Russia's attacks come a day after President Volodymyr Zelensky greeted Russia's withdrawal from Kherson city, asserting the troop pullout paved the way for Ukraine's eventual victory in the war.
Most world leaders condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine and warned the war further worsened weaknesses in the global economy. However, the G20 summit is yet to produce a formal statement on the matter.
