The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) suspended all outgoing and incoming flights at two major airports early Thursday.
The traffic restriction at Saratov Airport entered into force at 5:45 am CET, while the airport in Volgograd was shut down 15 minutes later. The information was shared on a Rosaviatsiya representative's Telegram channel, which also added the smaller Penza Regional Airport to the list without disclosing further reasons for the embargo. All three cities are located in Southwestern Russia within a few hundred kilometers of each other.
