Russia won't transfer Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

The Russian Foreign Ministry declared on Tuesday that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is under Russian jurisdiction, and any proposal to shift its control to Ukraine or another nation is "impossible." The plant is near the front lines and has been the subject of considerable nuclear and attack worries. It's the largest nuclear plant in Europe but has been shut down since it was captured in 2022.

"The employees of the Zaporizhzhya NPP are citizens of the Russian Federation, and their lives cannot be played with, especially given the atrocities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the statement emphasized.

Earlier today, both nations accepted a US-brokered agreement to guarantee secure Black Sea navigation and implement mutual restrictions on targeting each other's energy infrastructure. Ukraine has already put this into effect.
