Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin said Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will "suffer first" in case of NATO's "aggression" against Russia or Belarus, although "damage will be caused" to the entire alliance. He claimed that Poland "does not understand" that its military activities near the border with Russia and Belarus contribute to the "acute" security situation in Europe.

Naryshkin repeated that Russia's goals in the war in Ukraine remain unchanged and include the demilitarization and "denazification" of Ukraine and the recognition of the "current borders of the Russian Federation," including the annexed Ukrainian regions. He accused the Ukrainian government of perpetuating the war in order to stay in power and avoid accountability for its "criminal decisions."
