Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that talks on a potential minerals deal with the United States were "positive" and will continue. The meeting took place on April 11 after Kiev received a new proposal from the Trump administration in late March.
Zelensky made the remarks as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte arrived in Ukraine earlier today on a surprise visit. Zelensky repeated that his military is in need of air defense systems and missiles and urged allies to accelerate plans for a so-called "reassurance force" that could be deployed to Ukraine after the war with Russia is over.
