Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Thursday that Moscow's recent contacts with the United States are the first step in restoring the two countries' relations.
Speaking to the press, Ryabkov noted that it is too early to make conclusions about the long-term outcome of the talks as this is "only the beginning of a long dialogue."
His comments came after Washington and Moscow's meeting in Riyadh and the recent renewed contacts, mostly about solving the conflict in Ukraine.
