Casper Ruud of Norway defeated Holger Rune of Denmark 3-1 in total sets to advance to the Roland-Garros 2022 semi-finals, where he will face Marin Cilic of Croatia.
Ruud took a convincing lead, winning the first set 6-1, with Rune striking back and taking the second 6-4. The third set was narrowly snatched in the tie-break by Ruud, after which he again confidently won the fourth one 6-3.
Ruud was significantly more efficient in terms of aces, scoring 13 compared to Rune's 1. The Norwegian was also ahead in first serve accuracy, with 68% against the Dane's 55%.
