Kazakh Elena Rybakina claimed her first Grand Slam title after beating third-seeded Ons Jabeur in the Wimbledon finals on Saturday.
Despite dropping the opening set, the 23-year-old player managed to shock her opponent, coming back to secure a three-set victory. She beat her Tunisian opponent 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
"The crowd were unbelievable and I want to congratulate Ons, you are an inspiration. It was a joy to play against you," said Rybakina after her win. "I didn't expect to be in the second week. To be a winner is just amazing," she added.
