South Korea and the United States staged joint air drills on Friday, piloting the F-35A fighter jets during the course of the exercise, Yonhap reported, citing the South Korean Air Force.
Involved in the drills over South Korea were the "latest-generation stealth fighters" from both countries, along with South Korean KF-16, F-15K and other aircraft. These drills were held to assist the ongoing effort of enhancing joint operational capabilities and "strengthen the deterrence against North Korean threats."
The exercise contributed to the training of pilots on defensive counter-air maneuvers, primarily focusing on the interception of cruise missiles.
