South Korean Unification Minister Kim Yung-ho said on Thursday at a press conference that he believes that independent of who wins the United States elections in November, the country's new government will reaffirm the Korean Peninsula denuclearization aim.
"Regardless of which party takes power, I believe the incoming administration will reassess its North Korea policy early on. I expect that they will reaffirm their commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea, and our government will also continue to work in that direction," Kim remarked.
His comments come after both the Democratic and the Republican parties failed to clearly mention this goal in their latest platforms.
