A South Korean chemical tanker capsized off a southwestern Japanese island on Wednesday, with Japan's Coast Guard (JCG) rescuing four of the crew, the Associated Press reported.

The JCG stated that it is still searching for seven crew members who are missing after the Keoyoung Sun chemical tanker issued a distress call saying that it was tilting before eventually turning over.

The conditions of the rescued crewmembers remain unknown, as does the reason for the tanker's capsizing.
