Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried expressed regret over the cryptocurrency exchange's collapse during Thursday's sentencing hearing.
"My useful life is probably over. It's been over for a while now," Bankman-Fried acknowledged while noting the contributions of his former business partners, including FTX co-founder Gary Wang and Caroline Ellison, his ex-girlfriend.
Both Wang and Ellison, who testified against Bankman-Fried under their plea agreements, were credited for their roles in building the cryptocurrency exchange, which Bankman-Fried referred to as "something beautiful."
