German Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized Tuesday the need for regulations that promote the joint development and procurement of defense equipment within the European Union.

Speaking alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Scholz highlighted NATO's pivotal role in maintaining collective security. He pointed to ongoing "threats," posed by the Russian shuttle fleet, including recent damage to an undersea cable. Scholz also addressed discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron about strengthening the European defense industry ahead of an upcoming summit in Brussels.

On Gaza, Scholz underlined the importance of planning the region's political and economic future. He called for international support to ensure stability and dignity for residents, urging reforms that enable the Palestinian Authority to take responsible leadership.
