Sierra Leone fuel tanker blast killed at least 91 people

The fuel tank explosion that happened on Friday in the capital of Sierra Leone killed at least 91 people, the local authorities said on Saturday.

According to a report by the central state morgue in Freetown, 91 bodies were received following the explosion, with victims including people who attempted to collect the fuel leaking from the vehicle.

"My profound sympathies with families who have lost loved ones and those who have been maimed as a result," President Julius Maada Bio said on Twitter, pledging to do everything necessary to support all affected parties and their families. The Sierra Leone government still hasn't officially confirmed the number of casualties.
