Prices of precious metals declined on Wednesday as investors braced for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's testimony before Congress, which is expected to offer more insight into the officials' monetary policy moving forward after deciding to leave interest rates unchanged last week.
Silver slid 1.62% to sell at $22.78 per ounce at 9:24 am ET. At the same time, gold slipped 0.44% to trade at $1,927.94 per ounce. Palladium plunged by 2.33% going at $1,339.09 per ounce, and platinum lost 1.24% to $952.90 per ounce.
