Nord Stream 1 could stop leaking next Monday - operator

EPA-EFE/DANISH DEFENCE COMMAND

Nord Stream 1 will presumably stop leaking gas next Monday, a spokesperson of Nord Stream AG said Thursday.

"Until there are some results from an assessment of the damage, no forecasts can be made. The damage assessment can be carried out on the spot as soon as we manage to approach the area. At the moment, it is a restricted zone," the spokesperson said.

Previously, Director of Danish Energy Agency Kristoffer Bottzauw stated that currently, more than half of the gas from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines is now gone due to the leaks.
