Sony Music halts activity in Russia

Sony Music Group announced on Thursday that it will be halting its business activities in Russia, due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

"Sony Music Group calls for peace in Ukraine and an end to the violence. We have suspended operations in Russia," the statement read, adding that the company "will continue our support of global humanitarian relief efforts to aid victims in need," with sending donations to the Red Cross, Direct Relief, International Medical Corps, Save the Children and World Central Kitchen.

Earlier this week, its parent company Sony Group shared that it will be suspending sales of its gaming console in Russia.
