South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol requested on Monday a trilateral joint response with the United States and Japan, following North Korea's missile launches.
Yoon "ordered an immediate and overwhelming response to any provocations by North Korea against our territory and people. In addition, we ordered the ROK-U.S. joint defense posture to be firmly maintained and the joint response of ROK-US-Japan to be actively promoted by utilizing the real-time sharing system of North Korean missile warning information," the presidential office published in a statement after an emergency meeting was held by the National Security Council.
