Six South Korean opposition parties said on Wednesday that they have filed a motion to the National Assembly to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol after he declared martial law.
All opposition lawmakers participated in proposing the motion, which is set to be voted on in parliament on December 6 or 7.
On Tuesday, Yoon declared martial law to "eradicate pro-North Korean forces and protect the free constitutional order," but promised to reverse his decision after the parliament passed a resolution to block it.
