A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Southern California, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The epicenter was 7 kilometers southeast of Ojai in Ventura County. No significant damage or casualties were reported in Los Angeles by the LA Fire Department, Mayor Karen Bass said.
The area could also be affected by Tropical Storm Hilary, which made landfall on the Baja California peninsula in Mexico hours earlier.
