Spanish GDP registered a 0.3% growth in the first quarter of 2022, representing a drop compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, the country's National Institute of Statistics reported on Friday.
Despite the fact that GDP growth stood at 6.4% year-on-year, compared to 5.5% in the previous quarter, the institution highlighted the influence of the COVID-19, the military operation in Ukrainian, and the resulting higher energy prices.
The statement remarks as well the "the very significant and diverse distortions on energy markets, international trade, price trends, migratory flows which have been felt globally since the last month of the quarter."
