Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Thursday that he will travel to Ukraine on Monday to "reaffirm Spain's support for Ukrainian democracy and president Volodymyr Zelensky."

Sanchez's visit comes amid tensions between Zelensky and United States President Donald Trump, during which Trump called Zelensky a "dictator" for failing to hold presidential elections and implied Ukraine was to blame for the war with Russia as it failed to "make a deal."
