British Prime Minister Keir Starmer addressed the parliament on Wednesday, expressing regret that the nation has inherited multiple crises due to 14 years of governmental failures. He emphasized that the current newly appointed administration is now faced with the challenge of rectifying widespread failures, including critical issues in social care.
"There's a crisis and a failure absolutely everywhere after 14 years of failure that this government of service will begin the hard yards of fixing, including on social care," he said during his first Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs), assuring that his government is committed to the arduous task of addressing and resolving these problems.
He also promised to "maintain the unity that is so important," in the Ukrainian-Russian issue.
