United States President Joe Biden received a document signed by 100 workers at the States Department of State and Agency for International Development (USAID) in which they asked him to change Washington's stance toward the clashes between Israel and Hamas and call for a ceasefire in Gaza, Axios reported on Monday.
While they stressed their awareness of the "recent atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7th," the workers also criticized Biden's subsequent speeches, accusing the president of bias. They also called on Biden to urge both Israel and Hamas to release their respective hostages.
Furthermore, the document said that some of Israel's actions, such as restricting water, electricity, and aid supply for Palestinians, "all constitute war crimes and/or crimes against humanity under international law." "Yet we have failed to reassess our posture towards Israel," it underscored. "We doubled down on our unwavering military assistance to [Israel] without clear or actionable redlines."
