Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon blasted Russia's President Vladimir Putin after Moscow imposed travel restrictions against several British cabinet ministers and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

"Putin is a war criminal and I will not shy away from condemning him and his regime," said Sturgeon, adding that Scotland is prepared to take the "strongest possible action to isolate and penalize his regime.'' "International condemnation, not just in words but in actions, against Russia must be as strong as possible," she concluded.

The news comes after the Kremlin announced it will add 13 British officials to its entry blacklist over London's "hostile" stance towards its military operation in Ukraine.
