    Subaru to recall near 119,000 cars in US on air bag malfunction

    Subaru Corporation's carmaking unit Subaru will recall 118,723 vehicles in the United States for airbag malfunction that can trigger risks of injury to passengers in the event of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed Wednesday.

    The move affects Legacy and Outback models dated 2020-2023, as the Occupant Detection System (ODS) sensor will be replaced.

    Starting from May 21, 2024, affected owners will receive notifications to contact customer service in the US to arrange the replacement of the sensor without causing an additional cost.
