British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to say in a speech on Monday that the United Kingdom is "at a crossroads," according to excerpts seen by the Financial Times. "Over the next few years, from our democracy to our economy to our society - to the hardest questions of war and peace - almost every aspect of our lives is going to change," he will claim, adding that the UK will see more change "in the next five years than in the last 30."

However, Sunak will also say there are "huge" opportunities for a "brighter, more secure futures" for British citizens. He added his government will continue "safeguarding the nation’s security" and protect it from "those seeking to undermine our shared values and identities."
