The former British finance minister Rishi Sunak called the foreign minister Liz Truss' plan to cut taxes ''something for nothing economics'' as the cuts would be unfunded, stating that it resembles socialism. The comment was made during a second of three live debates between the five candidates that are now fighting to become a new United Kingdom prime minister.
Truss expressed her doubt that the former finance minister Rishi Sunak could promote economic growth in the country, given the fact that it has not yet happened during his chancellorship, while accusing him of raising taxes to a 70-year high.
Finally, commenting on the current situation with Russia, Truss was the only one who said she would be willing to sit down together with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 meeting as she would see that as an opportunity to face Russia.
