Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom (pictured left) said on Monday that he will meet Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu (right) to discuss Sweden's application to join NATO. Turkey has so far refused to ratify the bid, citing Sweden's alleged support for Kurdish nationalist groups.

Billstrom initially said the meeting will take place at the NATO foreign ministers summit in Oslo on Thursday. However, the Turkish government later said Cavusoglu will not be in attendance and that a bilateral meeting should still take place soon. Billstrom said that the situation is clearer following the Turkish general election as "we now know who to talk to."
