Switzerland's trade surplus came in at 9.9 billion Swiss francs in the second trimester, the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) announced in a report on Thursday.
Seasonally adjusted exports declined by 2.8% quarter on quarter, while imports tumbled by 5.4%, falling for the third quarter in a row. "The decline affected a wide range of goods on both the export and import side," it was noted in the report.
In June, the trade surplus amounted to 3.3 billion Swiss francs, shrinking from 4.3 billion Swiss francs registered in May, with exports down 1.7% and imports up 3.7% on a seasonally adjusted basis.
