Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Herzi Halevi (pictured) said Wednesday that his army is getting ready for "war in the north," referring to the border with Lebanon.
According to his statement published on Telegram, Halevi assessed northern Israel amid Hezbollah's daily attacks from Lebanon. "Hezbollah is not on the fence, we will push back all the capabilities, it will be much quieter here, there will be much more stability here and then we will say to the residents 'you can return'. Is it happening tomorrow? Probably not, it will take some time," he stressed.
Earlier, the IDF started a wave of airstrikes in Lebanon while Israeli Minister Without Portfolio Benny Gantz promised there would be a "strong response" to Hezbollah soon.
