The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (TSMC) board will authorize the construction of a semiconductor factory in Germany on Tuesday, Handelsblatt reported on Monday. The board is expected to vote on Tuesday and approve Dresden as the location for the future plant, sources said.
Government officials also told Handelsblatt that the German federal government will invest €5 billion from the Climate and Transformation Fund in the project. German publication Manager Magazin said TSMC's partners Robert Bosch GmbH, Infineon Technologies AG and NXP Semiconductors N.V. will each retain a 10% stake in the venture.
