Hayashi: PM Ishiba wants comprehensive economic package

Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi (pictured) revealed that the new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba tasked his cabinet with the creation of an economic stimulus package to boost growth.

According to Hayashi, one of the primary goals of the proposed economic package would be to alleviate the burden rising living costs have placed on households.

Hayashi stated the new cabinet will propose a supplementary budget after the general election scheduled for October 27.
