Tesla Inc. announced a recall of 376,241 vehicles in the United States, according to the National Highway Safety Administration report published on Friday.
This recall affects certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles produced in 2023, where a software glitch linked to the printed circuit board of the electronic power steering assist has been identified. The defect can potentially lead to an overstress condition "causing a loss of power steering assist when the vehicle reaches a stop and then accelerates again."
To address the problem, Tesla has provided a complimentary over-the-air software update. Vehicle owners can expect to receive notification letters by March 25, 2025.
