Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (pictured) filed a complaint and a motion on Friday to block United States President Joe Biden's administration's move to halt the deportation of undocumented immigrants.

"On its first day in office, the Biden Administration cast aside congressionally enacted immigration laws and suspended the removal of illegal aliens whose removal is compelled by those very laws," the Texas attorney general said in a filing with the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. "This unlawful reversal will cause Texas immediate and irreparable harm if it is not enjoined," the filing added.

On Wednesday, Biden signed an executive order reversing some of his predecessor Donald Trump's immigration policies and Acting Homeland Security Secretary David Pekoske issued a memo to temporarily paused deportations for 100 days.
