Russian energy transport company JSC Transneft revealed that it started pumping oil from Kazakhstan through Poland to Germany, RIA Novosti reported on Monday.
The Kazakh Energy Ministry previously confirmed that the first batch of 20,000 tons had been delivered to Russia, as part of a broader plan to supply Germany with 300,000 tons of liquid gold in the first quarter of 2023.
Astana and Berlin agreed on the deliveries after the European Union imposed an embargo on Russian oil, which still does not prevent oil of another origin to be transported via the national Druzhba pipeline.
