United States President Donald Trump said on Friday that he had an "extremely productive call" with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney as the trade dispute between the two countries heated up. Trump said the two "agree on many things" and that he will meet with Carney "immediately" after the Canadian election on April 28.

Trump added he will work with Carney "on elements of Politics, Business, and all other factors, that will end up being great for both the United States of America and Canada." He did not comment on any changes to the tariff regime imposed on Canada by his administration.
